Teaching approach
Engineering concepts become clearer when students can connect them to behavior they can see and reason about. I use visual aids, physical demonstrations, and practical scenarios to introduce mechanics concepts.
Questions about assumptions, boundary conditions, and failure mechanisms help students move beyond memorizing formulas. Classroom discussion and student feedback guide the pace and depth of explanation.
Mentoring
I support developing researchers as they formulate questions, plan experiments, interpret results, and communicate their findings. The aim is increasing independence while maintaining an open and supportive research environment.
Teaching interests
Solid mechanics, structural analysis, reinforced concrete, structural dynamics, seismic design, and advanced composite materials.
